And living in a Brave New World,
marching towards our barren desires,
we descend to our deepest despair.

We are nature’s creatures, the stuff of miracles,
hosts to ancient feelings of love;
squandered in dreams of utopia.

Lest we forget the smile of a child,
or the touch of a lover, content and delirious.
Forget not the tenderness of mother nature;
endless in love, relentless in grace.

Let us recall, such moments of truth,
defining our lives in whispers of passion.
And let us return to the parlour of love,
to greet our contentment.

Papua New Guineans find themselves stuck between a rock (village) and a hard place (town). Compassion, integrity and strength – inherent qualities of the traditional tribal leader – have been replaced with greed, jealousy and cowardice. Trusted leaders are but a figment of peoples imagination. PNG as a country and a people desperately needs to re-invent itself… or perish.

And if more religion and more bible held the answers – then PNG would surely have emerged as a super-power by now!

For better or for worse, this country is on already on course and it’s path in history firmly set. May God have mercy on those responsible.

I have noticed during the relatively short time that I lived and worked in PNG that when people discuss corruption and other issues relating to failed progress that the finger of blame almost certainly gets pointed elsewhere.

Until the average Papua New Guinean realises the role they themselves play in these development “issues” and begin to take responsibility for the present and the future of this beautiful country – all attempts at trying to improve the lot for the average PNG’ean will inevitably fail.

Jealousy and greed are rapidly emerging as a national sickness and both these afflictions lie at the very core of many problems.

In my humble opinion – the social fabric of Papua New Guinea is in a process of collapse – headed towards imminent disaster with the course of history for the next 5 to 10 years – firmly set.

The LNG Project and other extraction initiatives – theoretically meant to bring riches, affluence and other benefits to the people – will only speed up the process of decline and ultimate devastation.

…metamorphosis!
…presence
…non-knowing
…lightness
…flowing!

All the way to that big blue ocean.

Together…
…as one!!!
