Plugins can and do extend the functionality of WordPress to do almost anything you can imagine. I dedicate this page to all those Plugin Developers that tirelessly give their energy and time; they contribute selflessly and for little to no financial reward to make WordPress the best Open Source CMS currently on the market. The following are currently active on this blog:

  • Akismet  Akismet (2.4.0) by Automattic: Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not. You need an API key to use it. You can review the spam it catches under “Comments.” To show off your Akismet stats just put <?php akismet_counter(); ?> in your template. See also: WP Stats plugin.
  • AnyFont  AnyFont (2.0.6) by Ryan Peel: AnyFont allows you to use any truetype or opentype font for post titles, menu items or anywhere else you want to use a custom font on your site..
  • Category Icons  Category Icons (2.1.1) by Brahim Machkouri: Easily assign icons to your categories.
  • Comment Notifier  Comment Notifier (2.2.0) by Satollo: Let blog visitors to subscribe to comment threads, receiving an email in their mailbox on new comments.
  • Contact Form 7  Contact Form 7 (2.3.1) by Takayuki Miyoshi: Just another contact form plugin. Simple but flexible.
  • CoppermineSC  CoppermineSC (0.4.6) by Brad Guilford: Include images from Coppermine Galleries in WordPress entries. Based on original script by Lennart Groetzbach that was enhanced and adapted as a plugin by Matthias Jell.
  • Wordpress Download Monitor  Wordpress Download Monitor (3.3.4.3) by Mike Jolley: Manage downloads on your site, view and show hits, and output in posts. If you are upgrading Download Monitor it is a good idea to back-up your database first just in case. You may need to re-save your permalink settings after upgrading if your downloads stop working.
  • Google XML Sitemaps  Google XML Sitemaps (3.2.4) by Arne Brachhold: This plugin will generate a special XML sitemap which will help search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask.com to better index your blog.
  • Hybrid Tabs  Hybrid Tabs (0.2) by Justin Tadlock: Creates a tabbed widget for the Hybrid WordPress theme.
  • Insights  Insights (1.0.3) by Vladimir Prelovac: Insights allows you to quickly search and insert information (links, images, videos, maps, news..) into your blog posts.
  • My Calendar  My Calendar (1.4.7) by Joseph C Dolson: Accessible WordPress event calendar plugin. Show events from multiple calendars on pages, in posts, or in widgets.
  • Executable PHP widget  Executable PHP widget (2.1) by Otto: Like the Text widget, but it will take PHP code as well. Heavily derived from the Text widget code in WordPress.
  • Redirection  Redirection (2.1.28) by John Godley: Manage all your 301 redirects and monitor 404 errors
  • Simple Tags  Simple Tags (1.8) by Amaury BALMER: Extended Tagging for WordPress 3.0 ! Suggested Tags, Mass edit tags, Autocompletion, Tag Cloud Widgets, Related Posts, Related Tags, etc!
  • SyntaxHighlighter Evolved  SyntaxHighlighter Evolved (2.3.8) by Viper007Bond: Easily post syntax-highlighted code to your site without having to modify the code at all. Uses Alex Gorbatchev’s SyntaxHighlighter v2.0.320 and some code by Andrew Ozz of Automattic.
  • Thank Me Later  Thank Me Later (2.0.0.2) by Brendon Boshell: Automatically send a ‘thank you’ e-mail to those who comment on your blog. This plugin engages the visitor by reminding them to check back for responses or new blog posts. The plugin is highly configurable with multiple messages, variable delay and restrictions.
  • Widget Logic  Widget Logic (0.47) by Alan Trewartha: Control widgets with WP’s conditional tags is_home etc
  • WP Minify  WP Minify (0.9.3) by Thaya Kareeson: This plugin uses the Minify engine to combine and compress JS and CSS files to improve page load time.
  • WP No Category Base  WP No Category Base (0.7) by iDope: Removes ‘/category’ from your category permalinks.
  • WP-PageNavi  WP-PageNavi (2.73) by Lester 'GaMerZ' Chan & scribu: Adds a more advanced paging navigation to your WordPress blog
  • WP to Twitter  WP to Twitter (2.2.0 (beta 7)) by Joseph Dolson: Updates Twitter when you create a new blog post or add to your blogroll using Cli.gs. With a Cli.gs API key, creates a clig in your Cli.gs account with the name of your post as the title.
  • Yet Another Related Posts Plugin  Yet Another Related Posts Plugin (3.1.9) by mitcho (Michael Yoshitaka Erlewine): Returns a list of related entries based on a unique algorithm for display on your blog and RSS feeds. A templating feature allows customization of the display.
